I'm Nika. And this is my real story.

There are paths you choose. And then there are paths that find you.

Mine started with my father.

Dr. František Fabian was a mathematics teacher, a passionate handball coach, and the most brilliant person I know. Being the daughter of an accountant and a teacher meant that curiosity was a duty, precision a virtue, and giving up was not an option.

When my father was diagnosed with cancer, we tried everything. And then we came across medicinal mushrooms. Thanks in part to these mushrooms, he was able to live another eight wonderful years after his diagnosis—medicinal mushrooms described with words I could barely spell back then. But what I saw was clear: He lived longer. More gracefully. With more strength than the prognosis had suggested.

That was my first real encounter with natural medicine. And in retrospect: the beginning of everything.

A year that changed everything

Three years ago, I was in the midst of a personal crisis. Exhaustion, pain, chronic fatigue, insulin resistance. I went from doctor to doctor. Conventional medicine waved me through: politely, but without providing any answers.

So I looked for one myself.

I read. I researched. I studied. I tried things out. I radically changed my diet. I systematically built up my knowledge. And in doing so, I came across them again: medicinal mushrooms, this time as highly concentrated liquid extracts.

What came next was real life.

More energy. A clearer mind. Deeper sleep. A body that functions again, instead of working against me.

Why medicinal mushrooms? And why now?

Reishi, Cordyceps, and Hericium have been integral parts of Traditional Chinese Medicine for over 2000 years. Today, Western science confirms what Asian healers have long known.

Reishi — The mushroom for inner peace. It has a regulating effect on the nervous system, supports stress resistance, and promotes deep, restful sleep. Ideal for anyone stuck in survival mode.

Cordyceps — the mushroom for energy at the cellular level. Its unique active ingredients, cordycepin and adenosine, are key molecules in energy metabolism. Anyone who feels constantly tired despite getting enough sleep knows the feeling; Cordyceps is the spark that reignites their energy.

Hericium (Lion's Mane) — The mushroom for a clear head. It is one of the few natural substances whose active ingredients can cross the blood-brain barrier. Focus, fluency, mental sharpness, and at the same time support for the gut as a second brain.

What convinced me: They are not stimulants. They are adaptogens. They help the body to regulate itself without overtaxing it.

Liquid extract instead of powder — and why that matters

When I first started taking medicinal mushrooms, I bought powder capsules. The effect? Hardly noticeable.

The reason lies in biology: The valuable active ingredients in the mushroom are located behind a chitin skeleton that the human body can barely break down. The majority passes through the digestive tract without ever reaching the body.

High-quality liquid extracts solve this problem through dual extraction: water for the beta-glucans, and ethanol or vegan glycerin for the triterpenes. The result: bioavailability of up to 99%. One teaspoon of a quality extract is equivalent to up to 37 conventional powder capsules.

When I realized that this quality wasn't available in Switzerland, I got it myself.

Verovitalis . Founded out of conviction.

I am not a doctor. But I am someone who listens, researches, tries things out, and shares what really works.

Verovitalis arose from my own search. From the desire to offer people products that I wholeheartedly believe in. Products with organic certification, a patented extraction process, and complete transparency regarding origin and concentration.

And yes, my dog benefits too. Hericium has completely relieved his reflux. For him, that means less pain and more joy in life. For me, it's daily proof that natural medicine works, even for the creatures we love most.

What I have learned along this path

The courage to change comes first: regardless of what others say. Those who are passionate about something will become good at it. Period.

Small steps, consistently implemented, change lives more sustainably than giant leaps. The most important question is: What do I really need to be healthy and happy? And what does that look like in concrete terms: today, not sometime in the future.

Having faith in yourself is healthier than putting yourself down. Seize opportunities. Ask questions. Take responsibility. Get going.

My offer to you

If you want more energy, clearer thinking, or finally a good night's sleep, let's talk. Medicinal mushrooms aren't a miracle cure. But they are exceptionally intelligent partners for your body.

And this spring is the perfect moment to start.

What have you learned about yourself in recent years? I look forward to an honest exchange in the comments.
